When Patrick and I first got married we needed furniture for our home, obviously. We had some things that were, formerly, my grandmothers (coffee table, end tables, and a kitchen table) but we still needed some necessities (bed, couch, dressers, end tables). So, we bought a new couch as we hoped it would last us for the next 20 years, and we love it. Then, at the same store we bought some cheap dressers, figuring that we would eventually replace them. I really hated these dressers, I thought they looked like kids dressers (cheap, with lots of storage) and that we would get something nicer and pass them down to our kids. Next we purchased two end tables for our bedroom and a mattress and frame. By this point we were tired of spending money so, we did not purchase an actual bed. As we lived in 4 different places in 4 1/2 years, we kept putting off the bed. Then, when we moved into the house, we needed a dining room table, bunk beds, chairs for the living room, and the bed was, again put off as we didn't want to spend the money all at once. So, for my birthday I requested that we buy the bed. We went to a consignment store, found an amazing deal, and I got new dressers too. Here are pictures of the results.
THE BED

In the corner is Patrick's new dresser, and you can also see the new end tables.
Patrick's dresser. On the wall, under picture, is a sculpted fish.
My dresser.
This furniture doesn't match, so we are planning on refinishing it, eventually.

New lamps, rather modern, but we like them. They also throw light very nicely.
The window and my sort of attempt at a window seat.
