What Does One Do?

What does one do when they are only two days away from their due date? They make toy weapons for their children, of course! Now, obviously, I didn't make the sword, but yesterday I spent most of my time "making crafts" for Sebastian. First let me just say that there is a reason why this is not a blog about all the creative crafts that I make. In fact, you will rarely see a "project" post that has anything to do with my own creativity. I decorate our home, and that is about it. I am not a very creative person. I am definitely not a "crafty" person. Therefore, I don't do things like this because I am really not very good at it. The question then arises, should a non-crafty person be picking up from the library a book about how to make crafts? DEFINITELY NOT! Especially not when your child is only three years old and he will be wanting you to make everything in the book as he is incapable of doing so. However, being the softy that I am, yesterday I made Sebastian a lion mask, (not pictured for a reason, it was not very well done.) a shield, an ax, and a pseudo-helmet. Fortunately, my child loves me know matter how good I am at this stuff. Here is a pictures of a few of my creations.
Happily, Sebastian loved it all. I had to finally tell him "no more" when he also wanted an elephant mask. (that one will not be easy) But, because I love him so much, I continue to make him these things. I'm looking forward to the day when I can do simple tasks like hide things, make treasures maps, and sit and enjoy my coffee while he tries to find the treasure.
